For clinicians and care teams
Supporting earlier dementia risk insight through responsible AI
DementiaDetect is being developed to help clinicians identify early patterns of cognitive change using multimodal data and AI-driven risk insight. The aim is not to replace clinical judgement, but to support earlier conversations, prioritisation and monitoring within existing care pathways.
Designed for the pathway
Earlier insight, inside the workflow you already use
- Multimodal data analysis across speech, sleep, activity, cognition and behaviour
- Longitudinal monitoring to track change over time
- Risk insight to help prioritise who may benefit from further assessment
- Designed to fit alongside primary care and memory service pathways
- Built to complement, not replace, clinical judgement
- A staged evidence and validation pathway
Our development principles for clinical use
- Safety and governance considered from the outset
- Explainable insight: clarity on the kinds of signals involved
- Claims kept proportionate to the stage of validation
- Clinicians remain central to every decision
Evidence pathway
Developed through staged validation
We believe clinical tools should earn trust through evidence. Our intended pathway moves deliberately, in line with recognised digital health evidence expectations.
Technical validation
Testing model performance and reliability before any clinical claims are made.
Retrospective testing
Evaluating against existing, consented datasets to understand real-world signal.
Prospective study
Designing prospective evaluation and clinical pilots with partners.
Clinical pilots
Working inside real pathways to assess workflow fit and benefit.
Real-world evaluation
Measuring impact, safety and value over time.
Standards alignment
Working towards alignment with NICE evidence standards and relevant regulation.
DementiaDetect is being developed and is not currently a registered medical device. Where intended use brings it within medical device regulation, we intend to pursue the appropriate route, including alignment with UK GDPR, MHRA expectations and NHS digital technology assessment.
